No power at all
First, check whether neighbours and street lights have power. If they don't, call 105. If they do, look at your consumer unit: if the main switch or all RCDs have tripped and won't reset, or everything appears on but nothing works, there's a fault that needs an electrician.

Frequently asked questions
Is it a power cut?
If your street is dark too, yes: call 105. If it's just you, the fault is likely in your property.
What if the consumer unit smells hot?
Don't touch it. If there's smoke, leave and call 999. Otherwise book an emergency electrician.
Can the main fuse have blown?
It can. That belongs to the network operator, so call 105 if we find the fault is before your consumer unit.
How much is an emergency call-out?
The call-out price is shown when you book. It covers an electrician attending, making the installation safe and finding the fault. Any repair is priced and agreed with you before work starts.
Will I need a new consumer unit?
Not usually. If a replacement is needed, you'll be told why and given a price first.
